Scouts should be prepared with comfortable clothing, a daypack including: hat, sunblock, water, snack and/or lunch, walking shoes, first aid pack if desired.  Scouts often like to meet for lunch in the woods together at the end of a hike, so you may want to bring a sack lunch in your pack.
